Student Nursing

What I Wish I Knew about Student Nursing

Thanks very much for agreeing to pass on passing on a bit of your hindsight. I just need some details from you first. Please note this information will never be shared with anyone. Not ever.

(N.B. A little red asterisk means that field is mandatory.)

Thank you. Now, there are only two rules for answering the questions. Firstly, waffle all you want and let me edit your words later. And don't worry about sounding 'quotable', just be honest – I'll craft up your thoughts and show you before it ever goes to print.

Okay, have a think back to when you were a student nurse or a new graduate, and now imagine being able to go back and have a chat with your younger self about the whole thing...

And please, please, please copy your text before pressing the 'Send Email' button below. I don't want any of those horrible 'OMG!' computer moments where your answers are lost. 😉

If you could go back and give yourself just one piece of advice about getting through student nursing, what would it be?

If you had your time over again and could advise yourself on how to better handle graduating and starting that first placement, what would you say?

Are there any mistakes you might have avoided?

What would you say to your younger self about what makes nursing such a special career?

If a niece or nephew was just about to start student nursing and asked you for some advice, what would you say?

What is the funniest thing that happened to you as a student nurse or new graduate?

Do you have any touching or even sad stories about times where you have said to yourself 'This is what nursing is all about. This is why I became a nurse'?

Now it's time to upload your photo – all my books put a nerdy younger photo of each person next to their advice, just so all this great insight doesn't get too smug. 😉

And lastly please have a read of these terms and conditions for being in the series, and tick the ‘accept’ button below
